Who is Deepika Padukone’s Assistant?

30-year-old Karishma Prakash is a Mumbai native who comes from a middle-class family. During her years as a talent manager at KWAN Talent Agency, Prakash has worked with a slew of well-known Bollywood stars. She is also Jaya Saha’s assistant, according to reports.

She is currently in charge of one of the agency’s most high-profile clients, Deepika Padukone. Deepika’s former manager and co-founder of KWAN Talent Agency, Anirban Das Blah, was replaced by her. Blah attempted suicide last year after being accused of sexual misconduct during the #MeToo movement.

Prakash has frequently been seen with Padukone at events and photoshoots. She also attended the actress’ wedding to Bollywood star Ranveer Singh in Lake Como, Italy, in 2018. In an Instagram storey, the manager gave fans a sneak peek at the wedding site and décor.

Karishma Prakash Summoned by NCB

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) called Karishma Prakash, Deepika Padukone’s manager, in connection with the ongoing Bollywood drug investigation. Prakash also works at KWAN Talent Agency as a talent manager. In the Sushant Singh Rajput killing case, the Enforcement Directorate probed the same agency. According to reports, the NCB has discovered WhatsApp messages indicating her involvement in the suspected Bollywood narcotics ring.

When the NCB questioned Jaya Saha, Rajput’s talent manager and another employee at KWAN Talent Agency, Prakash’s name came up. The NCB has also called KWAN CEO Dhruv Chitgopekar for questioning in the same matter as Prakash.

In Prakash’s absence, the NCB raided her home in Versova on October 27th, 2020. “Prakash’s name came up during the questioning of one of the paddlers apprehended by us in the case in which we are attempting to crack drug networks around Bollywood, and we raided her apartment today based on the information,” an official informed reporters. 1.7 grammes of charas and at least two bottles of CBD oil were discovered.” NCB called her for further interrogation on October 28th, 2020.

No Anticipatory Bail for Prakash in Drug Case

In a narcotics case linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a special court in Mumbai today denied actor Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash’s pre-arrest bail request. Karishma Prakash filed an anticipatory bail application with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) court in October last year, fearing arrest in a drug-related investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

Special Judge VV Widwans denied her request for anticipatory bail after hearing substantial arguments from both the defence and the prosecution. The ruling was temporarily postponed till August 25 to allow Karishma Prakash to appeal to the Bombay High Court.

Following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in June of last year, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) began investigating an alleged relationship between drug peddlers and Bollywood superstars. The death case is being investigated separately by the CBI.

When one of the arrested narcotics dealers was probed, Karishma Prakash’s name came up. As part of its investigation into the narcotics case, the central investigative agency has arrested over 20 people so far. The majority of them are currently on bail, including Sushant Singh Rajput’s acquaintance Rhea Chakraborty.
